Hilary Duff, born on September 28, 1987 in Houston, Texas, is an American actress and singer. Her interest in acting was mainly influenced by her mother, who insisted that Hilary and her sister Haylie Duff take up acting classes, and later on relocating them to California.
Over the next few years, Hilary starred in “Casper Meets Wendy”, where she had a supporting role, in a movie “The Soul Collector”, for which she received a Best Performance for Young Supporting Actress award, and acted in a pilot show of the sitcom “Daddio”.
Hilary’s first widespread success came with her role in a TV series “Lizzie McGuire”, which averaged over 2 million viewers per episode, establishing her as one of the most popular teenage rising stars. When Hilary appeared in a comedy “Cinderella Story”, her acting impressed most critics, despite movie’s mediocre performance in a box office and mostly negative reviews. Her later performances, including “The Perfect Man”, where she appeared alongside Heather Locklear, and “Material Girls”, co-produced with Madonna, were a disappointment in the box office. She’s currently working on a number of projects, including a voice in an animated movie “Foodfight!”, as well as a comedy “Stay Cool”, where she will be acting together with Winona Ryder.
