Official 'Fast And Furious 6' Trailer is Out

All roads lead to this: Vin Diesel and Paul Walker starring in "Fast and Furious 6."The first "Fast 6" trailer debuted during the first quarter of Super Bowl XLVII.

Also starring Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, Michelle Rodriguez, Jordana Brewster and other stars turned reckless drivers, "Fast and Furious 6" is a follow-up to massively successful "Fast Five." That film earned a surprising $626 million worldwide after its release in April of 2011, the highest total of any "Fast and Furious" film. All told, the "Fast and Furious" franchise has earned over $1.5 billion at the global box office, which is why we're on Vol. 6.
Directed by Justin Lin, his fourth spin in the director's chair of a "Fast and Furious" film, "Fast and Furious 6" takes place after the events of "Fast Five." The plot synopsis is below:
Vin Diesel, Paul Walker and Dwayne Johnson lead the returning cast of all-stars as the global blockbuster franchise built on speed races to its next continent in Fast & Furious 6. Reuniting for their most high-stakes adventure yet, fan favorites Jordana Brewster, Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson, Sung Kang, Gal Gadot, Chris "Ludacris" Bridges and Elsa Pataky are joined by badass series newcomers Luke Evans and Gina Carano.

Since Dom (Diesel) and Brian's (Walker) Rio heist toppled a kingpin's empire and left their crew with $100 million, our heroes have scattered across the globe. But their inability to return home and living forever on the lam have left their lives incomplete.

Meanwhile, Hobbs (Johnson) has been tracking an organization of lethally skilled mercenary drivers across 12 countries, whose mastermind (Evans) is aided by a ruthless second-in-command revealed to be the love Dom thought was dead, Letty (Rodriguez). The only way to stop the criminal outfit is to outmatch them at street level, so Hobbs asks Dom to assemble his elite team in London. Payment? Full pardons for all of them so they can return home and make their families whole again.

Building on the worldwide blockbuster success of Fast Five and taking the action, stunts and narrative to even greater heights, Fast & Furious 6 sees director Justin Lin back behind the camera for the fourth time. He is supported by longtime producers Neal H. Moritz and Vin Diesel, who welcome producer Clayton Townsend back to the series.
Watch the hilariously action-packed "Fast and Furious 6" trailer Below. Universal is set to release the film on May 24, the same weekend as "The Hangover Part III."

Harry Potter Stars Then and Now

Check out Harry Potter Stars Then and Now:
It's been nearly a decade since Harry Potter first waved his wand on the big screen. Ahead of the release of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, we chart the growing pains of the Potter stars

Emma Watson

Emma Watson rose to fame playing the bookish Hermione Granger in all eight of the Harry Potter films. Outside of the Potter films, the actress remained busy; between attending Brown University and appearing in Burberry campaigns, she designed a clothing collection in collaboration with fair-trade brand People Tree. All eyes were on Watson after she gave her signature waves a chic pixie crop in August 2010. "My mom has short hair, and I've always thought that women with short hair were so beautiful," she told InStyle. "I wasn't allowed to cut my hair during Harry Potter, so as soon as filming stopped, I was like, let's do this!" Although her days at Hogwarts may be over, the ever-fashionable Watson is currently the face of Lancome, and can be seen in the upcoming films My Week With Marilyn and The Perks of Being a Wallflower.

Daniel Radcliffe

Daniel Radcliffe's life was changed forever after beating out thousands for the role of Harry Potter at the age of eleven. "I was a kid, among other kids," he told Entertainment Weekly. "To be 'special' just because I had been picked for this part was just...bizarre." Radcliffe made the transition to the Great White Way between filming Harry Potter, starring in the play Equus during its run on London's West End, and later on Broadway in New York. Today, Radcliffe looks every bit the accomplished actor with his crisp black suit and windswept hair. He is currently starring as J. Pierrepont Finch in the Broadway musical How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying.

Rupert Grint

Rupert Grint played Harry's best friend Ron Weasley in all eight of the Potter films. The actor shares many similarities with his character, from his high-spirited personality, to his fear of spiders. "I had always felt a connection to Ron," Grint told Entertainment Weekly. When he wasn't practicing magic spells at Hogwarts School, the actor appeared in independent films like Driving Lessons and Cherrybomb. These days, Grint has a more buttoned-up look thanks to his tailored blazer and groomed hair. He can be seen next in the 2012 war film Comrade.

Tom Felton

Although he appeared in two films and two TV movies prior to Harry Potter, Tom Felton catapulted to fame after taking on the role of bad boy Draco Malfoy. "I think my ability to lie was half the reason I was offered Draco," Felton said of his role. "At the very first audition, they just lined us up and asked us which bits of the book we were looking forward to in the film. I hadn't read the book, so I said the same as the guy next to me—which director Chris Columbus saw through in a heartbeat!" Now, Felton is less-sinister (and not as platinum!) than his Slytherin character, changing from his Hogwarts uniform to more clean-cut ensembles. The actor can be seen next in Rise of the Planet of the Apes and The Apparition.

Bonnie Wright

Bonnie Wright went from Ron Weasley's adorable younger sister Ginny, to the love interest of Hogwarts's Golden Boy. She and Radcliffe shared their first on-screen kiss in Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. "It was a little hard to kiss someone you've known that long, and also on top of that in front of all the cast and crew," Wright told Entertainment Weekly of the scene. "But that was a scene a lot of people were looking forward to, and we're both actors. I think it went well!" Gone are the days of playful ponchos and cowboy boots. These days, Wright sticks to chic dresses and trendy heels. In April, the actress was engaged to boyfriend Jamie Campbell Bower, who appeared as young Gellert Grindelwald in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, and Caius Volturi in Breaking Dawn.

Matthew Lewis

Like many of his peers, Matthew Lewis was a huge fan of the Harry Potter books before landing the role of brave Gryffindor Neville Longbottom. "At my audition, I was given a ticket stub that said I was number 743 in the queue. We waited four and a half hours," he told Entertainment Weekly on his audition. "My mom kept saying 'Can we go now? I will buy you a McDonald's if you wanna go,' but I was such a huge fan of the books, I said I wouldn't leave!" Lewis was first seen on the red carpet in a crisp black suit and tousled hair. These days, the actor opts for a more relaxed getup while flaunting a new tattoo.

James and Oliver Phelps

James and Oliver Phelps stole our hearts as Fred and George Weasley, the hilarious older brothers of Ron and Ginny. While the twins may be hard to tell apart on-screen, the two couldn't be more different in real life. "We've learned to watch each other's backs, but we have pretty different personalities," James told People. "I tend to joke around a bit more, while Oliver is more sensitive." After finishing up on the set of Harry Potter, the dynamic duo retired their bold ginger hairstyles and three-piece suits in exchange for their natural brown hue and casual jeans and polos.

Evanna Lynch

Like her character Luna Lovegood, Irish actress Evanna Lynch has an eccentric style all her own. Lynch reportedly wore a pair of radish-shaped earrings, similar to Luna's, when she auditioned for the part. She may not wear the accessories on the red carpet, but she's ready for her close-up thanks to her keen fashion sense and loose ringlets.

Interesting Facts about Celebrities Tattoos

Take a look at some of the Interesting Facts about Celebrities Tattoos

Jennifer Aniston was recently spotted in NYC showing off her very first tattoo: the name "Norman" on the inside of her right foot. The fresh ink is a tribute to the 42-year-old actress's dog Norman, a Welsh corgi-terrier mix that passed away in May at 15 years old. "Memorial tattoos are a serious and often necessary thing, but Jennifer chose one of the worst places of all time to get it," says "NY Ink's " Ami James. "The foot is consistently being exposed to the elements, naturally exfoliating itself and being exposed to constant friction. Even a good tattoo will not withstand that for much time at all," the expert tattoo artist explains. "Jennifer will be lucky if that tattoo looks decent for even a few months."

The tattoos on Angelina Jolie's upper left arm show the map coordinates for the birthplaces of her children. The tats have been inscribed in the same spot where a tribute to the 36-year-old actress's ex-husband Billy Bob Thornton once lay. His name, along with a Chinese dragon, were surgically removed after the pair divorced in 2003. "Tattoos last a lot longer than most romances," James says. "Thank god for laser."

Newly engaged couple Nikki Reed and Paul McDonald wasted no time getting matching tattoos. After a two-month-long whirlwind romance, the "Twilight" actress and her "American Idol" alum beau inked each others' first names on their respective right-hand ring fingers. "I think when you have thought and effort, added with good taste, even the most simple tattoo concepts can be turned into something really nice," James says of the duo's expression of love.

Songstress Rihanna sports a Pisces symbol tattoo behind her right ear. "A fine line runs between a job stopper and something you can pull off in this location. A lot of clients do not take into consideration when they see a trendy tattoo location and how something of this nature can change your future prospects forever. I obviously do not support tattoo prejudice, but that doesn't mean it does not exist," James explains. "With a tattoo like this, something as simple as pushing your hair behind your ears in an interview may lose you a job to competition. Rihanna pulls it off, but then again, I doubt she will be looking for a job anytime soon either."

"Heroes" starlet Hayden Panettiere is often pictured showing off the tattoo she has running down the left side of her back, despite it being misspelled. In full, it reads, "Vivere senza rimipianti," which is meant to be "to live without regrets" in Italian. Unfortunately for the 21-year-old actress, her tattoo reads "rimipianti" instead of "rimpianti," adding an extra "i." "She got the wrong person for the job," James says. "A reputable shop double checks spelling." Although initially horrified about the misspelling, Panettiere says she is proud of her tattoo and wants to "live up to what it means."

How many tattoos does rapper Lil Wayne have? We're betting that Lil Wayne himself isn't able to answer that question. "I seriously doubt Lil Wayne put the thought necessary into any of his tattoos, especially the ones on his face," says James. "He went from very little to being tattooed everywhere in about a year."

Johnny Depp is another celebrity who's a fanatic lover of tattoos, having numerous tats all over his body. From dedications to his children (Jack and Lily-Rose) and ancestral heritage (Cherokee Indian) to even the ink he had altered (Wino Forever) after he broke up with actress Winona Ryder, Depp's tattoos seem to suit him. "Johnny Depp looks like he earned his tattoos with a mug of wine from some old pirates," James observes. "But somehow he still manages to make them look cool."

Pamela Anderson rocks a barbed-wire armband tattoo on her left bicep. James doubts that there's much meaning behind Anderson's tat, saying, "The overly trendy, everyone-has-to-have tattoo began its career as the armband, then it moved to the lower back, and now it is working its way back up again." The tattoo artist advises, "Tattoos should be about individuality, not what's hot, because it may not be for long."

Interesting Facts about Tom and Jerry

Tom and Jerry is an American series of animated cartoons created by William Hanna and Joseph Barbera for Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer, centering on a never-ending rivalry between Tom the cat and Jerry the mouseHanna and Barbera wrote and directed one hundred and fourteen Tom and Jerry shorts between 1940 and 1957, before the animation department was closed.

The original Tom and Jerry series, now known as one of the most famous and longest-lived rivalries in American TV history, is notable for having won the Academy Award for Animated Short Film seven times, tying with Walt Disney’s Silly Symphonies.  A longtime television favorite with kids, teenagers, and adults alike, in 2000 it was named one of the greatest television shows of all time by Time magazine.

The popular series features on-going comedic fights, usually centering around Tom’s numerous attempts to capture Jerry and the chaos and destruction that would invariably result. Though it’s sometimes unclear why Tom incessantly chases Jerry, Jerry’s eating of Tom’s master’s food (which Tom has been entrusted to safeguard), Jerry’s rescuring of Tom’s other potential dinners (ducks, canaries, and goldfish), and Jerry’s ruining of Tom’s attempts to seduce various feline females seems to be reasons enough.

Central to the Tom and Jerry comic template it that Tom rarely succeeds in catching Jerry, mainly because Jerry is remarkably clever, cunning, and quite lucky. Often seeming to intentionally perpetuate their love-hate relationship, while often extremely annoyed at each another, in many episodes there seems to be genuine friendship (as in “Springtime for Thomas“) and concern for each other’s well-being (as in "Jerry and the Lion,” where Jerry tricks Tom into thinking he has shot him, and Tom comes running with the first aid kit).

Often compared to the Simpsons‘ “Itchy and Scratchy” characters–which many consider an homage to the famous cat/mouse rivals–Tom and Jerry episodes are infamous for some of the most comically gory acts ever committed to the cartoon cell, such as Jerry slicing Tom in half, shutting his head in a window or a door, stuffing Tom’s tail in a waffle iron, plugging his tail into an electric socket, causing a tree to drive him into the ground, sticking matches between his toes and lighting them, and tying him to a firework and setting it off; and Tom retaliating by using everything from axes, firearms, explosives, traps, and poison to try to end Jerry’s life.

While Tom and Jerry has been criticized for being what many consider unnecessarily violent, in reality, there is actually no blood or gore in any of the original cartoons, and neither of the pair are ever seriously injured. (An exception is when Tom gets sliced into pieces in the opening credits of Tom and Jerry: The Movie.) Recurring gags involve Jerry hitting Tom when he’s preoccupied–with Tom only feeling the effects moments later–and Jerry stopping Tom in mid-chase–calling for a time-out–just before he does something terribly nasty to Tom.
Traditionally, music plays a very important part in Tom and Jerry shorts–since Tom and Jerry almost never speak–effectively emphasizing the action, adding emotion to the scenes, and filling in for traditional sound effects.  Most of the dialogue from Tom and Jerry are high-pitched laughs and gasping screams, which are thoughtfully provided via a horn or other musical instrument.  Additionally, musical director Scott Bradley created complex scores that combined elements of popular jazz, classical, and pop music, and often incorporated songs from MGM films like The Wizard of Oz and Meet Me In St. Louis.

Beginning in 1960, MGM had new Tom and Jerry shorts produced in Eastern Europe by Rembrandt Films.  In 1963, however, due to poor quality, production was returned to Hollywood under Chuck Jones’s Sib-Tower 12 Productions, producing forty-seven additional cartoons before it wrapped up production in 1967. The famously popular cat and mouse stars then resurfaced when Hanna-Barbera/Filmation Studios produced cartoons during the 1970s, 1980s, and 1990s, with a feature film, Tom and Jerry: The Movie, released in 1992, and in 2001, their first made-for TV short, “Tom and Jerry: The Mansion Cat for Boomerang.” The most recent Tom and Jerry theatrical short, “The Karate Guard,” debuted in Los Angeles theaters on September 27, 2005.

Today, Time Warner (bought by WTBS founder Ted Turner for his Turner Entertainment division) owns the rights to Tom and Jerry and is distributed by Warner Bros.  In February 2010, the now-classic cartoon celebrated its 70th anniversary with a DVD collection of thirty shorts, and in June 2010 the Tom and Jerry Deluxe Anniversary Collection was released to celebrate the animated duo’s seventh decade together.  The classic episodes are also running on Cartoon Network TBS, TNT, The WB, Boomerang, and Turner Classic Movies.

Cars 2: Movie Review

The Bottom Line: Lightning and Mater mix it up with Formula 1 and spies in yet another Pixar winner.

Opens: June 24 (Disney)

Voice cast: Larry the Cable Guy, Owen Wilson, Michael Caine, Emily Mortimer

Director: John Lasseter

Co-director: Brad Lewis

Screenwriter: Ben Queen

Cooler cars and more action follow Lightning and Mater as they mix it up with spies and Formula 1 racers in yet another Pixar winner, writes Todd McCarthy.

Pixar's 2006 release Cars is widely regarded as among the less dazzling of the animation house's dozen sterling titles, so it's fair to imagine that John Lasseter and his pit crew felt motivated to use a little extra elbow grease in order to deliver an improved new model. On the whole, they have, as Lightning McQueen and the loyal pick-up truck Mater quickly vamoose from sleepy Radiator Springs to join the Grand Prix circuit in a succession of world capitals, where they become entangled in some related international spy intrigue. Featuring cooler cars and more action than Fast Five, Cars 2 is notably less refined and more rambunctious than Pixar's recent run of artistic gems. But commercially, it'll be off to the races this summer, with even bigger international prospects assured on this lap than on the first spin.

No special knowledge or memory of the original is required to get one's bearings, as this beautifully designed sequel stands easily on its own four tires. A self-professed car nut from his youth, Lasseter takes advantage of the global locations to jam the cast with an auto show's worth of vintage international motorcars, from an amply armed Bond-style Aston Martin to the humble East German Trabant; in the bargain, he even further adorns Big Ben, the Eiffel Tower and, in the end credits, Pixar's own campus to charming effect. Perhaps as much as in any animated film one could cite, there's always something beautiful or clever or funny to look at and, as often as not, to listen to as the anthropomorphized automobiles zip about in high and determined spirits.
The story, cooked up by Lasseter, co-director Brad Lewis and Dan Fogelman and scripted byBen Queen, is both simple and not always entirely discernible on a moment-to-moment basis. At the outset, in fact, the coordinates are geographically and dramatically inscrutable; physically, the action begins literally at sea, amidst an ocean of sinister oil rigs infiltrated by British spies Finn McMissile (an Aston Martin voiced by Michael Caine) and Miata-like Holley Shiftwell (Emily Mortimer), who make use of all their special extra-automotive endowments -- wings, heavy weaponry, underwater capability -- to make a nocturnal escape with their dignity and paint jobs intact.
A world away in the American desert, the spiffy red Lightning McQueen (Owen Wilson) is hot-rodding around with tow-truck buddy Mater (Larry the Cable Guy) when he's persuaded to enter an upcoming series of races in which big shot Land Rover Sir Miles Axlerod (Eddie Izzard) hopes to prove the viability of his revolutionary clean fuel Allinol as a substitute for gasoline. Here, as elsewhere, the visual, verbal and musical jokes practically exceed the speed limit; one blink-and-you-miss-it gag shows the marquee of the local drive-in promoting "The Incredimobiles."
First stop is Tokyo, where cars engage in sumo wrestling and the lights of the Ginza district look so bright you're glad for the slight dimming effect of the 3D glasses (Pixar typically amps up the brightness of its images to compensate for the darkening).
During a pass through Paris, the old Les Halles is wondrously reconstituted as a spare parts bazaar, Gusteau's from Ratatouille is part of the cityscape, the tops of the Eiffel Tower and the Arch de Triomphe are automotively reimagined and Mater, who went home after Tokyo, makes a too-soon return. Inoffensive in small doses, Mater's "Hee-Haw" routine gets old pretty quickly and comes to excessively dominate the film with his saddlesore witticisms.
Next stop is fictional Porto Corsa, an Italian seaside jewel that resembles a theme park version of Monaco. The Italian champion, Francesco (John Turturro), intends to assert his dominance over Lightning McQueen here, while a disguised Mater tries to infiltrate a gang of low-end Euro cars working on behalf of unknown bosses out to discredit the Allinol vehicles so as to maintain the demand for oil. The message is clear.
The in-fighting becomes downright vicious during the final race in London in front of the Queen, while the picture itself becomes rather more antic and frantic than it needs to as the ultimate villain is exposed, the British spies are vindicated and the Americans, while happy in their achievements, typically decide that there's no place like home.
Even as recent Pixar films have benefited from increased simplicity and modulation of mood and effect, Lasseter keeps Cars 2 running at close to the red line from start to finish with nary a pit stop to refuel. On balance, it's more exhilarating than exhausting, but there are moments when sensory overload threatens to set in. More is better seems to be the by-word, but a bit less aw-shucks humor and Looney Tunes-like madness over the long haul would have made for a more agreeable balance.
The vocal talent assembled for the voices is impressively varied and deep; even for small roles one finds enlisted such estimable actors as Vanessa Redgrave, Jason Isaacs, Jenifer Lewis, Franco Nero, Katherine Helmond and Paul Dooley, not to mention Cheech Marin, Brent Musburger, Deadliest Catch star Sig Hansen and race car drivers such asDarrell Waltrip, David Hobbs and Jeff Gordon. Michael Giacchino's score has the effect of a super-charger on the film, as if it needed one.
