Newest World's Tallest Living Man by Guinness World Records

For three years in a row, Sultan Kosen has been named the world's tallest living man by Guinness World Records. Interestingly, he's earned this lofty distinction at three different heights. Even more fascinating, in the last three months, the 29-year-old Turkish man has only recently stopped growing thanks to receiving state-of-the-art treatment in the U.S.
Kosen first entered the record books at 8 feet 1 inch; at his next measurement, he was listed as 8 feet 2 inches, and now he's achieved his ultimate adult height at 8 feet 3 inches. He's also in the record books for having the largest hands (11.22 inches) and largest feet (14.4 inches).

5 Facts You Didn't Know About Chocolate

If you're like most women, you're totally smitten with chocolate. People have been obsessing over this comfort food for thousands of years (the Mayans considered cocao a cure-all and the Aztecs used it as money). And all that obsessing has yielded some pretty surprising studies--and findings. Here, five things you need to know about your favorite indulgence.

1. It Can Boost Your Workout
Skip the expensive sports drinks and protein shakes. Research shows chocolate milk is just as effective a recovery aid.
A study published in the journal Applied Physiology, Nutrition, and Metabolismcompared the effects of a recovery drink and chocolate milk on endurance athletes' ability to recover after a series of bike sprints followed by an endurance ride the next day. They found that chocolate milk was just as effective at relieving muscle soreness after the sprints, and preparing the athletes to perform in the endurance test the next day. Better yet, everyone preferred the taste of chocolate milk.
2. Your Period Doesn't Make You Crave It
Half of American women experience chocolate cravings. Of those of who do, about half crave it right around "that" time of the month.
And while it's nice to have your menstrual cycle to blame when you find yourself noshing on half a package of chocolate chip cookies, researchers at the University of Pennsylvania found that menstrual hormones aren't the culprit. They compared the cravings of pre- and post-menopausal women and didn't find any change. They did, however, find a higher prevalence of cravings among women who suffer from PMS.
Why? Annmarie Kostyk, a chocolate expert who studied at the Professional School of Chocolate Arts, Ecole Chocolat, in Canada, says this has a lot to do with the psychology behind comfort foods. "Chocolate is sociologically considered a comfort food, and people crave comfort foods when they feel terrible," she says.
3. It Won't Wake You Up
It's a common misconception that chocolate is packed with caffeine, says Kostyk. In reality, the amount of caffeine in chocolate is miniscule compared to what's in your other daily pick-me-ups.
An ounce of dark chocolate contains about 20 milligrams of caffeine, while an ounce of milk chocolate contains about 5 milligrams--the same as an 8-ounce cup of decaf coffee. In comparison, a cup of coffee contains about 100 milligrams and a cup of tea contains about 50 milligrams of caffeine.
4. It Contains Flavonoids
Flavowhats? Flavonoids are a type of phytochemical, or plant chemical, that are found naturally in chocolate. Due to their unique chemical structures, flavonoids can exert antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and cell-protective effects, says Giana Angelo, Ph.D., a research associate who specializes in micronutrient research at the Linus Pauling Institute at Oregon State University. Consuming foods rich in flavonoids has also been associated with a reduced risk of heart disease.
To reap the benefits, stick to dark chocolate. The average commercial dark chocolate contains about 60 percent cocao and has been found to contain 536 milligrams of flavonoids per 1.4-ounce serving. Research has shown that as few as 80 milligrams of flavonoids a day can lower blood pressure.

5. It's Not All Bad for Your Teeth
How could a food that's long been touted as a cavity-causer actually have teeth-protecting properties? It turns out that theobromine, an organic molecule that occurs naturally in cocoa, can help strengthen tooth enamel, according to research from Tulane University.
In fact, it takes 142 times less cocao extract to have about twice the protective benefits of fluoride, according to the American Dental Association. Unfortunately, theobromine isn't too beneficial in chocolate bars, where the sugar and milk counteract the dental benefits. Enter Theodent, a fluoride-free mint toothpaste that packs a punch of theobromine ($10, theodent.com).

Canadian Supermodel - Linda Evangelista Wallpapers

Evangelista was born to Italian parents and was raised in a working-class, traditional Catholic family in St. Catharines, Ontario. She knew she wanted to become a model when she was 12 years old. Evangelista got into the modeling industry when she was discovered by a talent agent at the 1978 Miss Teen Niagara Contest.

Evangelista later moved to New York City and signed with Elite Model Management there. She then moved to Paris, to further her career. She also appeared in music videos with George Michael.

Along with Christy Turlington, Claudia Schiffer, Cindy Crawford and Naomi Campbell, Linda is regarded as one of the few, true supermodels that changed the face of fashion in the late 1980s and early 1990s. The triumvirate of model friends that comprises Linda Evangelista, Naomi Campbell and Christy Turlington was affectionately dubbed "The Trinity" and is commonly credited as responsible for sparking supermodel mania. The Trinity pushed for better wages for models and for better projects and subsequently Evangelista was called the founder of the supermodel "union".

Evangelista uttered the quote, "We don't wake up for less than $10,000 a day" (often misquoted as: "We don't get out of bed for less than..." or "I don't get out of bed for less than...") Spoken in Vogue (1990) to Jonathan Van Meyer, talking about money and how she and a few other models were calling the shots and changing the game.

In the late 1980s, she cut all her hair off to brandish a little-boy style haircut and was promptly cancelled from all the important runway shows that season. This was the first of her many, many dramatic hairstyle changes. Within months, she appeared on magazine covers everywhere and many women emulated the hairstyle.

French Supermodel - Laetitia Casta wallpapers

Laetitia was raised in Normandie and Corsica, France, in the middle of an animal-filled forest, Laetitia has a down-home charm that's truly infectious. At the age of fifteen, Laetitia was discovered while vacationing with her family on a beach in Corsica, "the island of beauty", in France.

A modeling agent from the Madison Models' Agency approached her, and handed her father a business card with an invitation to bring his daughter to Paris for some test shoots. Once her father finally agreed to the agency taking some test photographs, her unmistakable potential was recognized by the founder of Madison Models - despite the fact that the shoot occurred without the aid of makeup and a designer wardroom which many models rely on to promote themselves. Within weeks of her first shoots, she was walking the runway for Jean-Paul Gaultier. However, her career did not begin to take off until the director of the French edition of Elle saw and was impressed with Laetitia's looks.

Modeling contracts and appearances in magazines quickly ensued. Paul Marciano, founder and art director of Guess? who is incidentally accredited for the success of Claudia Schiffer - was taken by Casta's near perfection. Her work in the Guess ad (she became their new front Girl) was her debut advertising campaign. Shot by Neil Kirk in Jamaica in October 1994. Thanks to Marciano, Guess has brought her international exposure and recognition.

In addition to Rolling Stone, Casta has adorned the pages of many other magazines, including the Italian edition of Glamour; Vogue; and Cosmopolitan. In 1998, she joined Kate Moss and Jennifer Aniston in becoming a spokesperson for cosmetics company L'Oreal. Casta's relationship with designer Yves St. Laurent has helped to promote her career. Since 1998 Casta's public outfits have all been personal Yves St. Laurent creations.

Her appearance in the exclusive Pirelli calendar, considered a collector's item because it consists of beautiful shots taken by the most prestigious photographers, is considered one of Casta's accomplishments. In the 1999 issue, themed Women Through the Decades, Casta is featured as representative of the 1950's woman.

She lives in Paris with her parents, older brother and younger sister. Laetitia enjoys car racing with her friends, traveling, cooking with her mum and spending time with her younger sister. Laetitia also has a brown belt in Judo, she feels that it helps her in her modeling career to have control. To set limits for herself, to adopt a non-aggressive stance and to think with her mind not her emotions.

Laetitia became a French national obsession when she was elected by all the French mayors to be the representation of Marianne's effigy, the French Republic symbol. Known for her great sense of humor and a good head on her shoulders, Laetitia can look forward to a bright future.

Australian Super Model - Elle MacPherson wallpapers

Eleanor Gow was born March 29, 1964, in Sydney, Australia. Elle's original plan was to study pre-law at Sydney University, but when the 18-year old, 6-foot beauty was discovered in Aspen, Colorado, she was immediately signed to the Click modeling agency.
She soon became a staple of Elle magazine, posing for the magazine for 6 years. While her talent as a model was undeniable, her marriage to the fashion magazine's creative director, Gilles Bensimon, further secured her relationship with the magazine.
She ventured into the world of exercise videos, motivating and teaching people how to stay fit to hopefully end up with a body like hers (probably something every woman would love). She showed off her body on the cover of the much coveted Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition in 1994, with models Kathy Ireland and Rachel Hunter.

Already having achieved supermodel status, Elle knew that the glamorous modeling industry has high turnover so she set her sights on other projects. Since the crossover from modeling to acting is a popular and usually successful one, Elle decided to perform in front of film cameras as well as fashion photographers. She first appeared on the silver screen in the 1990 Woody Allen film Alice (the spectacled director personally picked her for the part), but the part required nothing more than a "walk-by."

Still, that was a start, and in 1994, "The Body" was required to gain 20 pounds for her meatier role in Sirens, co-staring Hugh Grant. In 1996 she appeared in a remake of Jane Eyre and starred opposite Ben Stiller in the comedy, If Lucy Fell. That year she also appeared in The Mirror Has To Faces, with Barbra Streisand and Jeff Bridges.

Wanting to branch out into other industries, Elle used her business skills to become chair of a line of lingerie called, Elle Macpherson Intimates. Based in Australia, the company has grown into a multimillion-dollar enterprise. Elle is also associated with Montgomery Ward, a clothing line ranging from sportswear to intimates.

Finding time somewhere between all these projects, Elle joined fellow supermodels Claudia Schiffer and Naomi Campbell in developing the theme restaurant, the Fashion Cafe.

Signed with Miramax, the leggy model/actress was the object of Batman's affection in 1997's Batman & Robin, and co-starred with Anthony Hopkins and Alec Baldwin in The Edge.

Elle was recently seen last season on the sitcom Friends, in the recurring role of Joey's new roommate.

As for Elle's personal life, she and Gilles Bensimon got divorced, and Elle has since had two ex-fiances, Eric Miller and Tim Jeffries, and has dated Sean Penn. She is now with her long-time companion, Swiss financier Arpade "Arki" Busson, the father of her son Flynn.
